Christy Cowgill is a Certified Health Coach, Certified Hypnotherapist and HypnoBirthing® Childbirth Educator* (in process). Her work centers on helping individuals and couples create transformation and experiences they desire; physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually.
After spending more than 15 years practicing as an advanced practice nurse, specifically a nurse anesthetist, she can draw from a well of technical know-how and inner workings of the body’s fascinating physiology. Pulling from science and evidence-based techniques, her skill to harness one’s inner mindset to create positive changes is both intuitive and skilled.
Making positive changes through hypnosis and every day living coping strategies leads you not only to discover what changes you want to create but to actually MAKE those changes. Imagine completely eliminating negative or unwanted habits and being able to stop doing things you don’t want to continue to do! Hypnosis can help with insomnia, pain management, stress reduction, weight loss, smoking cessation, fears, anxiety, confidence, and more. You really are what we think…so that means you can change.
In addition, Christy is passionate and dedicated to helping expectant parents prepare for a fulfilling and gentle birth experience through the “Gold Standard” of birth hypnosis with HypnoBirthing®, The Mongan Method. It is a childbirth education design that empowers women to achieve more gentle, natural births. Breathing techniques, affirmations, visualizations, and progressive relaxation techniques are taught as well as all things birth from the amazing uterus to labor, partner roles and beyond. Really a well rounded 5 week curriculum that is fun, insightful, and engaging.
And because you just feel better when your body is functioning at its best, you really can achieve that optimal weight whether it’s a few pounds or hundreds. For those desiring optimal weight, focus on nutrition, and other healthy habits, she partnered with the top medical and health/wellness leaders to engage clients in a structured program. The proven results speak for themselves and can set the stage for an individual's next health journey of creating a healthy mind. Healthy weight can reduce the incidence and severity of many of the chronic medical ailments today such as heart disease, diabetes, and more…new evidence showing the diet's impact on dementia. So indeed, it comes full circle, we are what we think and we are what we eat.
Born in the MidWest and raised in Illinois, Christy now calls Oregon ‘home,’ along with her husband and two HypnoBirthed daughters. She enjoys the outdoors and can often be found hiking, biking, or just soaking up nature.
As a mom and wife, I strive to live a life that will out live me. I am learning to face my own fears, accept my imperfections, and embrace this messy life in the moment. ~ChristyReturn to Home Page
